Dr. Leslie Hammer

Dr. Hammer is Co-Director of the Oregon Healthy Workforce Center at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), and a Professor at both Portland State University and OHSU within the Oregon Institute for Occupational Health Sciences. She is also Associate Director (former Director) of the Occupational Health Psychology graduate program at PSU. Dr. Hammer is a renowned expert in Total Worker Health®, work-life balance, and development of effective family-supportive and Veteran-supportive supervisor trainings. Her Total Worker Health interventions have significantly improved employees’ job performance, workplace safety, organizational commitment, job satisfaction, sleep quality, cardiovascular health, work-family stress, and turnover intentions.

Dr. Krista Brockwood

Dr. Brockwood is a Senior Research Associate at OHSU since 2015, but prior to that was at Portland State University overseeing two major federally-funded grants with Dr. Leslie Hammer. Dr. Brockwood received her Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology & Systems Science from PSU in 2002. She was an Assistant Professor at Pacific University in the School of Professional Psychology from 2003-2008. Dr. Brockwood is a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1988-1992 in Military Intelligence as a Signals Specialist/Cryptologic Linguist.

Phoenix Rain Bird

Ms. Rain Bird is a Senior Research Assistant at OHSU. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Portland State University and has worked with Dr. Hammer’s team since 2012, first as an undergrad with the Work Family Health Network and then as a full time research assistant through three major federally funded grants. She is primarily responsible for training development, graphic design, UX, and dissemination.
